Video | Project Pando Needs Your Donations
By supporting Project Pando, you increase our impact and help us connect more people with trees.
Right here in the Southeast, our forests are being cut down faster than in the Amazon! This needs to change! We here at Project Pando are working on solutions, and your donations will make a huge difference!
Hi! My name is EB, and I'm the co-director of Project Pando. Project Pando is a nonprofit that works to connect people with trees to help heal our planet. Project Pando started by creating this community-driven native tree nursery. This nursery gives away thousands of free trees and shrubs every year to native restoration projects.
Our trees are all grown from native seeds collected by volunteers and partners. All of these seeds are collected in our local landscapes. This community effort collects hundreds of pounds of seed from over 80 different species and counting!
We put together the details of our community-driven nursery, which became a chapter in Basil's book From Wasteland to Wonder. This book allows others in our area and beyond to replicate and improve on this work.
At the same time we have been developing this beautiful 17-acre site that we affectionately call Pandoland. Pandoland hosts some of our native restoration projects, our volunteer workdays, and our educational opportunities.
Let me show you an example! This is our first pocket forest planting! How old do you think this puppy is? What if I told you we transformed a bare patch of grass into this forest in only 2 and 1/2 years!? And we didn't bring in expensive trees or equipment to make it happen! We found that with proper planning, site prep, and healthy saplings, this reforestation method is very accessible.
Come support this work by donating to Project Pando! The link to donate is in the description below. With your help, we can turn these seeds into forests and build more resilient communities along the way!
